This special smoothie was created by Breakfast Criminals in celebration of National Kale Day, a day we hold very dear to our hearts here at RawFoodRecipes.com. The creators of this nationally recognized day of all things kale have noted, “just a few cups of kale daily may have the power to battle cancer, inflammation, and low moods.”
Kale yeah!
Back to the smoothie…
This delicious treat will nourish your body with plenty of fiber, phytonutrients, calcium, and amino acids. You’ll be flying high and feeling good after taking the very first sip guaranteed. Top it with more fresh fig, tahini and Emmy’s Organics raw cashew blueberry buckwheat cereal.
Ingredients
- 2 handfuls kale (I used frozen kale)
- 1/2 cup figs
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 frozen banana
- 1.5 cup coconut or almond milk (I didn’t have either one, so took 1 tbs Dastony raw coconut butter and blended it with water to create coconut milk
- 1 tbs hemp seeds
- 1 tbs tahini
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Optional: 1 scoop Sprout Living Vanilla Lucuma
Instructions
Blend ingredients until smooth, garnish and enjoy!
