Are you looking for a way to get more plant based iron into your diet? Look no further. This smoothie bowl is loaded with this critical blood-building mineral thanks to raisins, unsulphured blackstrap molasses, and chaga tea. Getting your daily dose of iron has never been so delicious. Enjoy!

  • 1/3 cup brewed chaga tea*
  • 1/3 cup packed raisins
  • 1/2 frozen avocado**
  • 1/2 cup full fat coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon molasses, plus more to drizzle
  • 2 tablespoons cacao powder
  • 1/4 cup soft dates
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional
  • 6 large ice cubes

  1. Soak the raisins in the chaga tea (either soak them in chilled chaga tea and let sit for at least 4 hours to soften OR soak them in the hot tea but only use once cooled).
  2. Blend all but the ice cubes in a high speed blender until smooth.
  3. Add the ice and blend again smooth and frosty. Eat immediately.

*I talk about chaga in THIS VIDEO. **quartered before freezing for easier blending Here's a secret: molasses and tahini make the perfect drizzle to garnish a smoothie or dessert! I topped it all off with coconut molasses hearts. These are EASY to make. I drizzled a little molasses into a heart shaped silicone mould and then poured melted coconut butter on top. Once set, I popped them out and voila!
Heather PaceAbout Heather Pace

Heather became a health conscious vegan at the age of 14 after reading the book Fit For Life. She discovered new ways to enjoy her favorite foods, particularly her beloved desserts.  Heather’s curiosity was peaked when she stumbled upon a raw food restaurant at the age of 16, and by the time she was 18, she attended her first raw retreat for a month in California. Her passion for food led her to a two year culinary school program at the age of 18. Despite the fact that she wasn’t interested in most of the food being prepared, she gained valuable experience by learning the basics and all that the food industry has to offer. She went on to work in various restaurants, bakeries, and as a personal chef. Heather's serious sweet tooth led her to author four raw dessert ebooks: Just Desserts, Raw Party Parfait, Moonie Pie Recipes, and The Ultimate Raw Ice Cream Cake. She teaches raw food classes, and hosts dessert challenges on her site:
