Raw pizza is much like a raw dessert. Once you try it your entire world will be forever changed as you realize what you’ve been missing eating the cooked version for so long. This recipe is perfect for the whole family, get the kids involved in the pizza-making process!

Yield: 1 large or 2 small pizzas

Ingredients

Crust
  • 2 medium onions
  • 1/3 cup flax seeds
  • 2 tablespoons tamari
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/3 cup water
Tomato sauce
  • 6 soaked sun dried tomatoes in water
  • 6 fresh cherry tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2-3 tablespoons coconut nectar
Cheese
  • 1 cup soaked raw cashews or macadamia nuts
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup nutritional yeast
  • 3 tablespoons tamari

Instructions

Crust
  1. Blend all ingredients except flax seeds in your blender until smooth. Add flax seeds and blend again. If too sticky, add more water.
  2. Place your pizza dough on non sticky sheet, make a circle shape about 1 cm thick and place in dehydrator for 8 hours. After 8 hours, flip over and remove the non sticky sheet and dehydrate for another hour. If you don’t have dehydrator, try your oven on the lowest temperature with door a bit open. You may try 6 hours of dehydrating if using the oven. Haven’t tried this particular recipe in the oven, but I guess it’ll work too!
Tomato Sauce
  1. Blend all ingredients together until smooth, taste and add either apple cider or coconut nectar to your liking. Spread over your pizza base
  2. Cut fresh tomatoes, kale or lettuce, whatever greens you have and place over your tomato sauce.
Cheese
  1. Blend all ingredients together until smooth.
  2. Spread over your toppings.
  3. Cut fresh tomatoes, kale or lettuce, whatever greens you have and place over your tomato sauce.
