Ayurvedic Raw Smoothie

Classic Ayurvedic herbs of ashwagandha, ginger, turmeric, and black pepper give this healing, fiber and chlorophyll-rich smoothie a medicinal twist, delivery to the body potent adaptogens, antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds. This recipe is very low glycemic, making it safe for even those with sensitive blood sugars. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 glasses of water
  • 2-4 leaves of lacinto kale (or other kale or greens)
  • handful of spinach (optional)
  • half a cup of fresh blueberry
  • 1-2 Tsp of flax seeds (flax meal)
  • 1 Tsp of Oat bran
  • 1 Tsp of Ashwagandha powder
  • piece of fresh ginger (size of thumb nail)
  • pinch of black pepper
  • pinch of turmeric
  • pinch of dulse powder
  • fresh turmeric root (if available)
  • stevia or coconut palm sugar for sweetening (optional)
Add ins
  • rolled oats (up to 4 Tsp)
  • rolled oats (up to 4 Tsp)
  • soaked sprouted quinoa (2 Tsp)
  • extra fruits of your choice
