Are you in need of something to simultaneously boost your immune system, enhance digestion, and fight inflammation? You’ve come to the right smoothie recipe. Activated charcoal is another superfood that has been touted as a miracle, but underneath all the detox hype, is actually a very helpful remedy for bloating and constipation. Via a process called adsorption, activated charcoal binds certain toxins within itself, helping them exit the body when it does. Ginger is a more familiar superfood that acts as a fantastic anti-inflammatory, and kale is one of the most nutrient-dense leafy greens you can eat. If you want to press “restart” on your diet this week, this is the smoothie that’ll do it.

- 1 ½ oz baby kale
- 1 apple — chopped
- 1 persian cucumber
- 1 lemon — peeled
- ½ inch ginger — peeled
- ½ tsp activated charcoal
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup ice
